This position is an opportunity to join the international innovation firm HWKN Architecture, where you will contribute to some of the most ambitious design projects currently underway in North America, Europe, and the Middle East.


HWKN’s upcoming projects include our competition-winning 400,000sf future-forward office building in London; a prefab office brand for today’s generation in Germany; new custom office buildings in Munich and Austin that promise a radically different balance of work and living; multiple mass timber projects including a 200-unit building in Washington D.C.; homes for individual clients including those in our aging population specifically tailored to their live/work needs; mixed-use masterplans; and upcoming buildings in the Metaverse.


We are looking for candidates who are truly passionate about innovative design, who thrive in a diverse, high-energy environment, and who are able to turn forward-looking concepts into solid design documents. Responsibilities:

Your main responsibility will be to drive business development initiatives within the company. This includes:

  • Developing Outreach Strategies: Collaborate with the Principal and Partners to strategize effective outreach plans
  • Building and Managing Opportunity Pipeline: Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline in our CRM (Copper) by identifying and nurturing potential leads
  • Establishing Client Relationships: Proactively reach out to potential clients, building strong relationships between them and our partners/principal
  • Supporting the Design Team: Assist the design team in creating customized responses to RFQs/RFPs, developing tailored packages, and preparing pitch presentations
  • Updating BD/Marketing Collateral: Ensure all business development and marketing materials, such as resumes, project materials, databases, and profile documents, are up to date
  • Client Representation: Attend client meetings and events as a representative of the firm, projecting a professional demeanor, and displaying confidence in a supporting client-facing role

REQUIREMENTS

  • Comfortable in a Creative Atmosphere: Thrive in a creative environment that values personal accountability and transparency
  • Relevant Experience: Possess at least 3 years of experience in marketing or business development, preferably in the architecture or similar industries
  • Strong Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent writing, editing, and communication skills, with a professional phone and email etiquette
  • Ability to Work under Pressure: Capable of handling multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, international environment and interacting with various personality types
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, proactiveness, and the ability to solve problems effectively
  • Attention to Detail: Show a commitment to delivering high-quality work and maintaining attention to detail
  • Proficient in InDesign and Google Suites: Have proficiency in using InDesign and Google Suites for various tasks
  • Location: Located in New York
